France 2 TV presents how Armenia gets ready for the New Year

TSOVAGYUGH, 19 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The famous Armenian traditions of celebrating the New Year have been introduced in Europe. France’s France 2 Television has prepared a video showing how Armenians get ready to celebrate the New Year. As “ArmenPress” reports, the TV crew visited the Tsovagyugh village of the Sevan area of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province and discovered the Armenian traditions of celebrating the New Year.

In the video it is stated that every member of the family has a special place and duty before the New Year.“We teach our daughters and daughters-in-law how to prepare Armenian dishes. When we’re gone, they have to preserve the traditions of Armenian cuisine,”Hatik Mkrtchyan said. According to her, young girls have to know 60 things before getting married, and some of them are to set a table, as well as cook, clean and sew.
