YEREVAN, 1 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. German film director Fatih Akin, who is of Turkish descent, hopes that his film The Cut serves as a bridge between the Turks and the Armenians.
This is what the film director said in an interview with Milliyet’s correspondent, according to “ArmenPress”. Akin emphasized that this film is almost like the film that he has always dreamed of making. According to Akin, the film is structured in a way that makes viewers forget who they are and become indulged in the story of a father seeking his children. “The real goal of the film is to start a discussion. The whole idea is freedom of thought. If you don’t want to call it “genocide”, then call it “the so-called genocide” or “massacres” or “exile”. I call these events “Genocide”,” Akin said.
