Armenian-French high level talks wrap up in Paris

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS: President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is in Paris on a working visit at the invitation of French President François Hollande, met today with François Hollande at Élysée Palace.

The Armenian and French Presidents discussed a wide range of issues concerning the Armenian-French agenda, referred to up-to-date regional and international issues and challenges. Serzh Sargsyan thanked President Hollande for the role of France in OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and for the initiative of the Paris meeting.

President’s press service told Armenpress that at the meeting the interlocutors again underlined that Armenian-French privileged relations show the centuries-long friendship of Armenian and French people based on common values.

Serzh Sargsyan and Hollande stressed with gratification that besides the high level political dialogue, the economic ties are also actively developing and strengthening: the volume of the French investments in Armenian economy reaches about 1 billion dollars today.

President Holland expressed gratitude to Serzh Sargsyan for Armenia’s participation in the international peacekeeping mission, as well as for willingness of the Armenian side to participate in the activities in the African region conducted under the UN patronage.

Referring to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict regulation process, President Serzh Sargsyan underscored that Armenia always stands up for regulation of the conflict through peaceful negotiations and noted that he highly assesses the efforts of the heads of the co-chairing countries and OSCE Minsk Group directed toward the progress of the negotiation process, establishment of sustainable peace and stability in the region.

After the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and France, the negotiations of the Armenian and Azerbaijani President with participation of the OSCE Minsk group Co-Chairs launched.
