Armenian President signs decree on winter draft and demobilization

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS:The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree on the 2014 winter draft and demobilization on October 15. The Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the Armenian President’s Office informed Armenpress that the decree of Serzh Sargsyan says in particular:

“Within the period of December 2014 - February 2015 male citizens of the Armenian Republic who will be 18 years old until 31 December 2014 inclusively as well as those citizens whose deferment of mandatory military service has been expired until 31 December 2014 inclusively will be conscripted into the military service during the winter draft.

In compliance with the decree within the period from December 2014 to February 2015 servicemen who have completed their mandatory military service will be demobilized from the army.

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has been assigned to adopt a corresponding resolution to carry out the decree within the fortnight period.

This decree comes into force from the next day of its official announcement”.
