Armenia registers progress in fight against domestic violence: Vladimir Gasparyan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 9, ARMENPRESS: Police Chief of Armenia Vladimir Gasparyan received today Council of EuropeCommissionerforHuman Rights Nils Muiznieks and the delegation headed by him, Information and Public Relations Department of Armenia’s Police informed Armenpress.

Welcoming the guests, the Police Chief presented the events implemented for coordinating the works directed towards defense of the human rights of women and teenagers, fighting against family violence, as well as handed over the package of the documents and the videos on the works implemented in the Police.

Attaching importance to the works carried out in the direction of domestic violence, Vladimir Gasparyan noted that in order to make the combat in that direction more effective a relevant department has been set up. This structural change has brought to positive results.

During the meeting other issues of mutual interest were discussed as well.
