Kessab-Armenians previously moved to Turkish Vakif village returned to their hometown

YEREVAN, JULY 17, ARMENPRESS.The elderly Armenians, who left Kessab on March 21 and moved to the Turkish village of Vakif in Musa Dagh, returned to their hometown. “Armenpress” was informed about this from “Berio News” Facebook page. They are ready to make efforts to recover their ancestral cradle.
Earlier, Kessab Mayor Vazgen Chaparyan had informed that after the liberation of Kessab by the Syrian army on June 15 about 250 Armenian families returned there.
In a conversation with “Armenpress”, Kessab-Armenian Karo Manchikyan noted that the life in Kessab is gradually improving, infrastructures are working better, but there is still quite a long way to go. According to him, the assistance provided to Kessab is being distributed to the residents, and financial assistance has already been provided twice to the residents of Kessab. In its turn the Syrian Red Crescent Organizationprovided the residents withdifferent types of products.
