Armenia’s President has meetings with UN Organization representatives in regional headquarter

YEREVAN, JUNE 12, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in UN regional headquarter located in Vienna had meetings with the representatives of the organization-UN Deputy Secretary General, the Head of the Vienna Office of the Organization and the Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Yury Fedotov, the Director-General of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Li Yong, the Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission on the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty Organization of nuclear weapon experiments (CTBTO) Lassina Zerbo, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA (IAEA) Yukiya Amano.

The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the President’s Staff of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that at the course of the meeting with Yury Fedotov the sides underscored mutually that the expansion of the drugs and crime are among the most dangerous challenges in our times and the fight against them is priority. The President Serzh Sargsyan noted that the development of the results in that sector greatly depends on the international close cooperation. He noted that the role of UN Office on Drugs and Crime is great in its coordination.
