John Lennon’s collection of scribbles sold for about $ 3 million at Sotheby's auction

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. Handwritten letters, notes, poems and sketches by former Beatle John Lennon were sold for about $ 3 million at an auction at Sotheby's in New York, reports “Armenpress”.

The pieces, part of an 89 lot sale, come from Lennon's books In His Own Write (1964) and A Spaniard in the Works (1965).

The highlight of the sale was "The Singularge Experience of Miss Anne Duffield", the manuscript for Lennon's parody of Sherlock Holmes from "A Spaniard in the Works" which fetched $209,000.
