Citizens mainly complain of problems connected with law enforcement authorities: Karen Andreasyan

YEREVAN, MAY 29, ARMENPRESS. The citizens turn to the Human Rights Defender’s office mostly with the problems connected with the law enforcement authorities. At the joint sitting of the Standing Commissions on Human Rights and Public Affairs and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly, at the debates of the annual report “On the State Budget Execution of the Republic of Armenia for 2013” , this was said by the Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan, in response to the question of the Armenian Republican Party member Khosrov Harutyunyan: "It seems that there are many social and economic problems in our country, and the most complaints should come from these fields, but the people continue to complain more of the law enforcement system, mainly the courts and the prosecutor's office, their relations with the law enforcement authorities" – as reports “Armenpress”, said the Ombudsman.

Andreasyan said that the complaints of the law enforcement authorities are followed by the complaints in the socio-economic fields.

The Ombudsman’s office receives most of all applications from Shirak, Lori and Syunik regions. In Karen Andreasyan’s opinion, it is connected with the fact that the Ombudsman has offices in these regions. “The inhabitants of these regions are closer to us, and this may be the reason why they are more active, but this is just my opinion” – concluded Andreasyan.
