Charles Aznavour pays unexpected visit to Cafesjian Center for Arts

YEREVAN, MAY 14, ARMENPRESS. The French-Armenian legendary singer Charles Aznavour paid a visit to Cafesjian Center for the Arts on May 14.“Armenpress” was informed about this from Cafesjian Center Facebook page. The staff was honored to host the world-renowned chansonnier at their cultural center.

The famous French singer, songwriter, actor and public figure Charles Aznavour was born on May 22, 1924, in Paris. He is the author and performer of many well-known works. Over 100 million records of Aznavour’s songs were sold. Since 2009 Aznavour is Armenia's Ambassador to Switzerland, as well as Armenia's permanent representative at the Geneva UN office and other international organizations.

This year the eminent singer marks his 90th anniversary, on the occasion of which celebrations will be held in different parts of the world. Different musicians will congratulate the legend on the occasion of his jubilee.

On May 12 Charles Aznavour held a unique concert at Yerevan Karen Demirchyan Concerts and Sports Complex, giving the audience indescribable minutes. Then the next day, the legendary singer participated in the "Hayak" Award-giving ceremony, where he was awarded with Ruben Mamulyan special prize for his big contribution to the world cinema.
