YEREVAN, MAY 6, ARMENPRESS. The situation in Syria is much more intense than the mass media report. The clashes reached to the Armenian neighborhoods in Aleppo, dozens of bombs explode every day, and the snipers have been deployed in different parts of Syria. The Head of the Council of Armenian Evangelical Churches in Syria Harutyun Selimian noted on may 7 during the session of inter-departmental commission coordinating the main issues of Syrian-Armenians that the situation of Armenians in Aleppo is terrible and new tragedies are expected any time.

“The danger is especially great from the snipers. They shoot at different times of the day. Curtains are hung along the district so as to hide from the snipers how children go to school or the street. The Syrian-Armenians do not have work, many structures do not operate, so they do not have income to buy food or medicine,” Selimian says. He added that even in the difficult situation Armenian churches and schools continued working.
