Producers concerned about possible cost price growth of medicine in case Armenia joins CU

YEREVAN, APRIL 25, ARMENPRESS. On the way of Armenia's accession to the Customs Union the medicine producers of Armenia are concerned about the issue of the standardization of the legislation and harmonization of the customs tariffs. “Armenpress” was informed about this from the Executive Director of the Union of Medicine Producers and Importers of Armenia Samvel Zakaryan, adding that in case of applying the existing regulatory field of the Customs Union, the price cost of the domestic medical products will be higher than in the CU.

According to him in the medicine sphere the main difference in the legislative field of the CU (the members are Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia) and the Republic of Armenia is that GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) in compliance with European standards system has been introduced in Armenia, whereas the CU system is based on the application of the state standards (GOST) of the Russian Federation, which are not used for the determination of the compliance with the international standards.
