Name of new Prime Minister to become known on April 14

YEREVAN, APRIL 10, ARMENPRESS: At the course of the session of the Executive Body of theRepublican Party of Armenia the President of the Republic of Armenia, the Head of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan introduced the results of the discussions with the political powers around the Prime Minister’s candidacy. The Speaker of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov stated this in a conversation with the journalists after the session of the Executive Body of theRepublican Party of Armenia had finished.

“A session of the Executive Body and Council of theRepublican Party of Armenia will be held on April 14, by the results of which the name of the new Prime Minister will be announced,” Eduard Sharmazanov said as reported by Armenpress.

The Speaker of the Republican Party noted that it is not correct to say who will be the Prime Minister or whose names are discussed, as long as there is no official view by the party.

Previously it was reported that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan introduced his resignation to the President Serzh Sargsyan. The executive body of the ruling party accepted his resignation. Eduard Sharmazanov noted that the Prime Minister introduced the application of his resignation a month ago, but since negotiations were ongoing around the Customs Union, the international economic conference of Armenia’s ruling party should be organized, the President asked him to stay in the office for some time. “The Prime Minister said that the resignation was conditioned by personal reasons,” Eduard Sharmazanov said adding that no discussions were held upon the new Government.
