Armenian Speaker of Parliament pays official visit to Kazakhstan

Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan has met with the Speaker of the Mazhilis (lower house) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov.
Simonyan is on an official visit to Kazakhstan.
Speaker Simonyan underscored that Armenia highly appreciates the partnership with Kazakhstan and is ready to make efforts to further deepen it, the parliament’s press service said in a readout.
Simonyan touched upon the deepening of cooperation between legislative bodies, proposing to consider the format of an inter-parliamentary committee on cooperation between the two parliaments.
Speaking about regional developments and the necessity of signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Speaker thanked the Kazakh side for supporting the Crossroads of Peace project presented by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
“Speaker Simonyan drew his colleague’s attention also to the problem of the captives and illegally held persons in Azerbaijan,” according to the readout.
He invited Speaker Koshanov to Armenia on an official visit.
After the meeting, Speaker Alen Simonyan, accompanied by his colleague, toured the Parliament building of Kazakhstan.
