Armenia’s and Turkmenistan’s positions on international policy coincide

YEREVAN, APRIL 8, ARMENPRESS: The negotiations of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow were held in an atmosphere of mutual trust and friendship. The press service of the Armenian President’s Office informed Armenpress that during the talks, a constructive exchange of opinions on bilateral cooperation was held.

The Presidents noted the achievement of consensus on a wide range of issues. Serzh Sargsyan and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow expressed unanimous opinion that since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan on October 9 1992 the Armenian-Turkmen cooperation has reached considerable results.

After the ceremony of signing the documents, the Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow presented the results of the negotiations to the representatives of mass media.

Earlier it was reported that at the Turkmen Presidential Palace the official reception of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan took place on April 8. In the framework of the visit Serzh Sargsyan held a private conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow followed by a broadened meeting of the two countries’ official delegations. In the result of the Armenian-Turkmen high-level negotiations documents regarding multi sphere cooperation development were signed. The Presidents of Armenia and Turkmenistan recapitulated the results of the meeting by making a joint press statement.
