New Aleppo district design works draw to end

YEREVAN, MARCH 28, ARMENPRESS: The design works of the New Aleppo district, being built for the Syrian Armenians, are drawing to their end. The final clarifications connected with them are being made at the moment. The Head of Staff of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Firdus Zakaryan told Armenpress about it. According to him, in the nearest future they will hold negotiations on the occasion of the launch of the construction works. “$20 million is needed for the construction of the district, though we have collected quite little money to start the construction”, - said Zakaryan.

The Head of Staff of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia stated that at the moment there are 11,000 Syrian Armenians in the Republic. 650 families of them have applied to the Ministry to get an apartment.

488 families can reside in the New Aleppo district. The district will be located in the city of Ashtarak. It will consist of two residential and club buildings. A swimming pool, parking lots, playgrounds will be constructed in the district. A possibility will be created in New Aleppo district to open different types of workshops and stores on the ground floors of the buildings.
