Armenia’s President presents state awards

YEREAVAN, MARCH 21, ARMENPRESS. In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan the state awards for 2013 have been given in a number of areas based upon the relevant presidential decree and taking into consideration the suggestions of the Commission on State Awards. The solemn award-giving ceremony was held in the presidential residence today.

The Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the President’s Office informed “Armenpress” that the 2013 state awards have been given in the areas of literature and art, architecture and urban development, exact and natural sciences, humanitarian and social sciences.

A number of state awards have been given in the areas of art and literature. Edward Militonyan has been awarded in the area of literature and journalism genre for the collection of poems titled ''E'', Tigran Mansuryan - in the area of music for his work titled ''Requiem,'' Serzh Avedikyan, Yelena Fetisova, Martoon Adoyan, and Taguhi Karapetyan – in the area of cinema for the movie ''Paradjanov''.
