YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, ARMENPRESS: Due to the introduction of the commercial regime GSP+, more than 6,000 goods of Armenian origin, exported from the Republic of Armenia to the European Union countries, will be exported on zero or low duties. The Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Garegin Melkonyan stated about it at the meeting with the journalists.
According to him, limited number of countries has joined the EU Generalized Systemof Preferences (GSP+ system). “The number of the countries, using that regime, has reduced this year and only 10 countries have the opportunity to use GSP+ system. From the South Caucasian states, only Armenia and Georgia will use the regime. In February 2013 we applied to use the regime and in December it was decided to introduce the system in Armenia since January 1”, - said Melkonyan, Armenpress reports.
Touching upon the GSP+ system, Melkonyan stated that the countries, using the system, get the opportunity to export a wider coverage of goods to the European Union market.
