Explosions heard near Aleppo’s Armenian districts

YEREVAN, JANUARY 22, ARMENPRESS: On January 21 after the noon explosions were blown in the Armenian-populated Aleppo. Our source informed Armenpress about it, adding that the blasts and gunshots were not far from the Armenian districts. No information is available about the human losses. The source also reported that the major part of the city is again in darkness. Today, on January 22, the electricity was restored for only an hour. The Facebook page of the Primacy News informed in its turn that it has been for four days there is no electricity in Aleppo and the city is in darkness.

The Syrian SANA reports that the army units killed dozens of terrorists in the areas of Erbeed, Kweires, al-Jadida, al-Amryeh, Mayir, al-Baik Farms and near Aleppo Central Prison and the Infantry School. A military source told SANA that the army targeted and destroyed terrorists’ hideouts in the areas of Deir Hafer, Hreitan, al-Widehi, Rasm al-Abboud, Balat, Haylan, Babees, Yaqed al-Adas and Deir al-Jamal.

In Aleppo city, the army clashed with terrorists who tried to infiltrate the neighborhood of al-Sayyed Ali and killed and injured many of the assailants. The army units eliminated all members of many terrorist groups in the neighborhoods of Salah Eddin and Bustan al-Qasr.

In the course of the three years of the Syrian conflict, 120,000 people died, including more than 70 Armenians.
