Armenian Cause France Committee expects Hollande to arrive in Armenia not “empty-handed”

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The activities carried out by the Committee of France of the Armenian Cause are mainly centered on the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide. The bill to be introduced by the President of France François Hollande is in the stage of preparation now. The Commission has its representative lawyer in the staff of the bill being implemented by the Elysee Palace and follows the events directly. The Chairman of the Committee of France of the Armenian Cause Hrach Varzhapetyan said it in a conversation with “Armenpress” summarizing the work activities carried out in 2013.

Mr. Varzhapetyan, how was 2013 for the Committee of France of the Armenian Cause and what results are recoded regarding the process of implementation and prosecution of claim, recognition of the Armenian Genocide?

The real result for us will be the final solution to the Armenian issue. As for the year, the activities carried out by the Committee of France of the Armenian Cause have mainly been centered on the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide. The events devoted to the Sumgait pogroms that we organized in the Parliament of France in the previous year were symbolic. At the course of the event the Azerbaijani side again showed its anti-Armenian approach. The Azerbaijani side filed a lawsuit against me and the office twice and the court rejected it both times.
