Presidents sign statement on Armenia’s “Roadmap” to join CU

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan being in the Russian Federation on a working visit on December 24 participated in the expanded session ofthe Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow which was held with the participation of the Presidents of Russia , Belarus , Kazakhstan , Armenia and Kyrgyzstan and the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

“Armenpress” was informed from the press office of the President of the Republic of Armenia that the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of the heads of states has made a decision upon the program of the events (“Roadmap”) of Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union and the Common Economic space of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. By the decision, the members of the council have stated the program of the events (“Roadmap”). The Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, the Common Economic space were given orders to provide the implementation of the events assigned by the program in cooperation with the government of the Republic of Armenia. The Eurasian Economic Commission was also required to conduct monitoring of the implementation process of the events assigned by the program and inform the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation about the results.

According to the mentioned decision, the Eurasian Economic Commission must report the implementation process of the events assigned by the program to the consecutive session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of the heads of states.

In the result of the session, the Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Armenia have signed a statement on the program of the events (“Roadmap”) of Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union and the Common Economic space of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
