YEREVAN, DECEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. The lights of the main Christmas tree in Gyumri will be lighted on December 20, at 18:00. “Armenpress” was informed from the spokesman of the Municipality Zohrap Yeganyan that a festive concert will be held in the square with the participation of singers, dance groups, later Santa Claus and Snow Maiden will arrive at the square. The Municipality promises many surprises and magnificent fireworks to the people of Gyumri. Fireworks and music, not by live performance will also be held during the night of New Year. This year the height of the fir tree in “Vardanants” square is 30 meters and it is a little higher than that of the previous year.
The Cultural Department of the Municipality informed that the fir tree was entirely collected in the result of the branches cut in the sanitary trimming of the pines in Shirak Province and no tree was damaged. The Head of the Department for Culture of Gyumri Artashes Karapetyan assures that the decoration of the Christmas tree has completely changed this year. It is more luxurious and high-qualified. According to him, the Christmas tree of Gyumri will not yield the main Christmas tree of the Republic.
