Turkey accuses Davutoğlu for pro-Armenian propaganda: analysis

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Several days have passed after the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğluvisited Yerevan but still it continues to be discussed and interpreted, this time within the Turkish inter-political and experimental frames. If the majority of the Armenian society did not have any hopes regarding the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Nalbandyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu and the visit of the latter, the Turkish frames remembered the failed attempt of the settlement of the Armenian-Turkish relations well before the visit and made suggestions. Then, they note after the visit that except for the short-term preaching result, the visit of Davutoğlu to Yerevan did not lead anything good, on the contrary, the Turkish political powers strictly criticized his famous statement “About the Armenians’ eviction in 1915”.

The statement made by Ahmet Davutoğlu on that they can theoretically open the border with Armenia even today, but that they will again close it tomorrow if war erupts between Armenia and Azerbaijan wasunargued diplomatically and even logically. Such a hypothetical idea can also be expressed in relation to Iran, claiming that Turkey closes its border with Iran for the possible attack on it by the West.
