Armenia awarded National Geographic Traveler Prize

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS: The Russian version of the National Geographic Traveler Magazine summed up the results of the online contest of the best tourism direction. The Department for Public Relations of the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation told Armenpress that in the result of the contest Armenia won in the nomination “Discovery of the Year”.

This title proves that numerous steps are implemented by the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation to foster the development of tourism in Armenia. It is especially highlighted from the point of view of the increase of the awareness about the Armenia’s historical, cultural, national and religious heritage in the Russian market and the promotion of the incoming tourist flows.

Earlier, in April 2013, with the invitation of the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation, the editorial staff of the National Geographic Russia arrived in Armenia in the framework of the cognitive visit. In the result of the visit the National Geographic Russia and the National Geographic Traveler Magazines published articles about Armenia and at the website Nat-Geo.ru a series of photos were published.
