Open skies policy is good opportunity to take our position in the world

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. Armenia has adopted the open skies policy. “Armenpress” News Agency had an interview with the Executive Director of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia Arman Khachatryan regarding the creation of 20 thousand new vacancies, increase of flights, and many other issues as well.

- Armenia has adopted the open skies policy. What results do You expect from this and what is Your standpoint regarding this issue?

- Armenia must be available, the country must stay in touch with the external world and the communication must be available for everyone. Due to the open skies policy Armenia will be integrated to the global mainstreams both in respect of people and trade and services. This is an excellent opportunity for Armenia to take its position in the globalizing world and to be engaged in the dynamics of the world market.

- You mentioned that due to the liberalization of the market inside the country the local companies can also launch flights. Are there such companies at the present moment?

- First of all I would like to mention that there are no limitations regarding the number of the local air carriers. The market will be open for each local company, which has relevant qualification and is interested in the topic.

Notwithstanding, we must consider certain important circumstances. First of all it is about the safety. From the technical viewpoint the air carrier must be capable to provide the safety of the people. On another hand, there is a sphere of human and financial recourses, as well as the realm of opportunities and standards. No company can launch flights if it does not comply with those standards.
