Festive event dedicated to Soviet Union hero Hunan Avetisyan

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: On September 17 in secondary school number 74 will be held festive event dedicated to 70th anniversary of heroism of Soviet Union hero Hunan Avetisyan. “Armenpress” was informed from representative of press service of Armenian representation of “Rossotrudnichestvo” Liana Azoyan that at the event will be present delegation of foundation after Hunan Avetisyan arrived from Novorosisk, veterans.

Foundation after Hunan Avetisyan began functioning in Russia in 2009. The main aim of the foundation is repairing monuments of heroes and participants of war as well as bringing up the youth with patriotic spirit.

During Great Patriotic War Hunan Avetisyan sacrificed his life by covering theembrasureof aGermanmachine gun pillbox with his body so that his fellow soldiers could keep moving against the enemy. He was posthumously awarded the titleHero of the Soviet Union.
