European Heritage Days launch in Yerevan

YEREVAN, AUGUST 30, ARMENPRESS. On the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia the European Heritage Days launch in Armenia on August 31 and will last until September 1. The Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Arev Samuelyan stated this at the press conference held on August 30. The Deputy Minister welcomed all the guests from various countries and introduced the program of European Cultural Days. Arev Samuelyan emphasized that she is confident that these days will run in an active and efficient atmosphere. As reports "Armenpress" the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Arev Samuelyan underlined: "At the course of the European Heritage Days the public will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the historical-cultural values of our country and visit those monuments, which are not open to public access every day. We target to raise the public awareness regarding the rich European heritage and develop inter-cultural understanding as well."

Within the framework of Armenia's Chairmanship in the Council of Europe, our country hosted the annual conference of the EHD National Coordinators heralding the launch European Heritage Days 2013 events, which will last from August 30 to September 1.

EHD National Coordinators, cultural heritage experts, as well as a number of other officials from over 30 countries arrived in Armenia to participate in this significant pan-European event. The European Heritage Days have already formed tradition in Armenia celebrating every year all over the country. During these two days numerous historical-cultural monuments and more than 50 museums will host people with festive mood and notable events.
