Iran-Armenia air power transmission line in building process

YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS: The construction of the Iran-Armenia two-chain air power transmission line and “Noravan” substation will make the electricity exchange capacity between the two countries from the current 300 megawatts to 1200 megawatts. This was reported to Armenpress by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia.

The Iran-Armenia two-chain air power transmission line and “Noravan” substation, providing for the electricity exchange capacity between the energy systems of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia will start from the IRI border and will reach the Hrazdan power block, having the length of about 275 kilometers.

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia informed that the program is in the process.

The main contractor of the program is the Iranian “Sanir” Company. The construction of the Iran-Armenia two-chain air power transmission line and “Noravan” substation will cost €107,89 million. 77% of the financing of the program is being provided by the Export Development Bank of Iran and the other 23% - by the own and loan funds provided by the project customer, High Voltage Electric Networks CJSC.
