After mission in Afghanistan Armenian peacekeepers left to Germany

YEREVAN, JUNE 17, ARMENPRESS: The shift of the Armenian peacekeepers, carrying out their mission in Afghanistan, left for Germany. As Armenpress, was reported by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan, for one month the Armenian peacekeepers will undergo corresponding training and participate in different exercises under the German command. Next month the shift will be located in Afghanistan, at the site of the mission.
The troops of the Armenian peacekeepers (41 people), which has been carrying out their mission since 2010, continue the implementation of their task at the Kunduz Airport. The other group of soldiers (81 people) was deployed at the North Regional Command Headquarters, which is located in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. The troops are responsible for the security of the Airport of Mazar-i-Sharif. Another five Armenian officers serve as instructors.
The Armenian peacekeepers are implementing their mission in Kosovo as well. The issue of sending the Armenian peacekeepers to Lebanon and Northern Africa is being currently discussed.
