11 public beaches of Sevan Lake to open on July 1

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS: 11 public beaches of the Sevan Lake will be opened since July 1. As Armenpress was reported by the Deputy Head of Staff of the Ministryof NatureProtection of the Republic of Armenia, the responsible for the public beaches Ashot Avalyan, in comparison with the year of 2012 the number of beaches will not be increased, though in one of the beaches the provided services will be extended.
“All the visitors of the beach will be provided with the opportunity to use the free of charge car parking, children’s and sports playgrounds, toilets and other services”, - informed the Deputy Head of Staff of the Ministryof NatureProtection of the Republic of Armenia.
As stated by the responsible for the public beaches Ashot Avalyan, during the years the number of visitors has increased: if in 2011 100,000 people visited the beaches, in 2012 the number has reached 120,000.
The public beaches were created in 2011 by the instructions of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. The public beaches are daily attended by 2,000 visitors.
There are more than 100 private beaches in the coastal areas of the Sevan Lake. The Ministryof NatureProtection of the Republic of Armenia intends to increase the number of the public beaches of the Sevan Lake, which currently exceeds 10.
