Memorandum of Cooperation signed between General Prosecutors of Armenia and Iran

YEREVAN, APRIL 30, ARMENPRESS: The General Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan and the Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on April 30. As reported by Armenpress, during the ceremony of the memorandum signing the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia stated that the development of the economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran has brought to the increase in the volumes of trade turnover and tourism, so now these relations should be developed in the field of legal cooperation as well.
“The Memorandum will enable to build directly all the aspects of our legal relations”, - said Aghvan Hovsepyan. By now the legal cooperation between Armenia and Iran was implemented via the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia.
The Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i highlighted the friendly and close relations between the two countries. “The political and economic cooperation between Armenia and Iran is not complete without the judicial collaboration. This document will serve as the base, thus fostering the further development and expansion of the cooperation in the legal field”, - stated Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i.
By the invitation of the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan, the delegation, headed by the Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, arrived in Armenia with an official visit on April 29. During the three-day visit the sides will discuss particularly issues related to the mutual legal assistance in the fight against transnational crime, protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens and legal persons.
