Armenpress and ITAR-TASS signed agreement

YEREVAN, APRIL 20, ARMENPRESS: An Information Exchange Agreement has been signed between Armenpress news agency and ITAR-TASS during 6th session of The Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA) held on April 18-20 in Sochi. The agreement was signed by General Director of ITAR-TASS Sergey Mikhailov and Armenpress Director Aram Ananyan. Sides will make information exchange in political, economic, scientific, cultural and other spheres. Journalist experience exchange and mutual visit of the specialists are preplanned.

Armenpress is activating its cooperation with foreign news agencies, including signature of agreements with Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) and Georgian GHN.

Armenpress news agency was established in 1918 December 18 when with the decision of the National Council of the First Republic of Armenia a state agency - Armenian Telegraph Agency was created. Currently Armenpress news agency is acting as a closed joint stock company with its shares held by the government of Armenia. The Armenpress news agency is the oldest and biggest agency in Armenia. It produces home, international, regional news bulletins, photo news and provides a wide range of analytical stories covering politics, economy, culture and other areas. News items are issued on a daily basis in Armenian, Russian and English.

ITAR-TASS was founded in 1904. Today ITAR-TASS is a major world news agency and preserves the status of the central state information agency of the country.

ITAR-TASS constantly works to expand the list of subscribers and to suit the demands of major national publications, news agencies and TV channels, as well as of small regional media outlets. They closely cooperate with authorities, political parties and movements, public and humanitarian organizations, government ministries and business structures.
