YEREVAN, MARCH 6, ARMENRPESS. President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez passed away. As reports "Armenpress" Vice-President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro has announced Hugo Chavez's death during the TV address.
Maduro stated that Chavez had been seriously ill with cancer and died at 16:25 on March 5 by Venezuelan time. Hours before that Venezuelan authorities announced that the President’s health seriously deteriorated because of "a new heavy infection".
The Venezuelan Government declared seven days of mourning. Reuters reports that the Foreign Minister Elias Jose Jaua Milano declared this. Among other things he stated that Mr. Chavez's body would lie in state until his funeral on Friday. Before the funerals ex President’s body will remain in Caracas. As reports Agence France-Presse the place of Chavez’s burial has not been chosen yet.
A number of Latin American leaders will attend the official ceremony, which will be held in the morning on March 8.
Also the Argentine authorities have declared three days of mourning on the death of the Venezuelan leader.
