YEREVAN, MARCH 5, ARMENPRESS: Armenia is world’s 53rd happiest country. As reports Armenpress, in accordance with the latest data of British research center “New Economic Foundation” from 151 Armenia is on 53rd place. According to results of “The Happy Planet Index” ranking of our county’s happiness is 46.0.
The HPI measures what matters: the extent to which countries deliver long, happy, sustainable lives for the people that live in them. The Index uses global data on life expectancy, experienced well-being and Ecological Footprint to calculate this.
The index is an efficiency measure; it ranks countries on how many long and happy lives they produce per unit of environmental input.
The 2012 Happy Planet Index is topped by Costa Rica, Vietnam and Colombia – the countries that live the longest, happiest, most sustainable lives.
Costa Ricans have higher average life expectancy and well-being than people living in the United States. Of the nine countries closest to achieving happy, green lives, eight are in Latin America and the Caribbean.
