State and church jointly see for needs of shrines reconstruction

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 12, ARMENPRESS. More than 21 monuments, which are in the charge of the state and granted to the Mother See of Holy Ejmiatsin on basis of the right of untimely and gratuitous use, will be reconstructed in 2013. The Head of the Historical and Cultural Monuments Protection Agency of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Armen Abroyan stated that the Ministry of Culture is considering the restoration of 16 monuments and projection works of other 3 monuments. Among other things he stated: "During 2012 we finished restoration of 16 monuments and projection of reconstruction of 4 other monuments. Total sum of money spent for this activity is AMD 214.0 million."

In a conversation with "Armenpress" the Director of the Informational System of the Mother See of Holy Ejmiatsin Fr. Vahram Melikyan stated that during 2012 the Mother See of Holy Ejmiatsin totally or partially reconstructed St. Ejmiatsin Church in Tbilisi, Harichavank, St. Theotokos Church of Noradus, and Haghartzin. Preparatory and examination works launched in the Mother See, Ahktala Church, and St. Theotokos Church in Odzun.
