New Yerevan Mayor to be elected on May 5

YEREVAN, FEBUARY 11, ARMENPRESS: Elections of new City Council are scheduled for May 5, 2013. As reports Armenpress, draft on the decision is included in February 14 agenda of Armenian government.

Thus, through election of City Council new Mayor of Yerevan will be elected.

According to the Law "On local self-government", City Council consists of 65 members, having term of 4 years. Yerevan City Council is composed of the Republican and "Prosperous Armenia" fractions. Armenian National Congress fraction refused to participate in Yerevan government works.
