Peace in Artsakh is more expedient than war: political scientist

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. The heads of the politicians from Baku are full of the adventurous ideas about resuming aggression against Artsakh. Notwithstanding, Tigran Manasyan, political scientist living in Russia, doubts the success of such activity of Azerbaijan. In a conversation with "Armenpress" the political scientist mentioned that Azerbaijan will undertake such an aggression only in case of the start of military hostilities against Iran. Manasyan stated: "Recently the former Ambassador of the United States to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza also doubted the chances of the Azerbaijani armed forces against the NKR Defense Army."

Among other things the political scientist qualified the situation around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict rather comprehensive and explosive. According to him alongside with intensive armament of Azerbaijan the situation in the Near East also becomes very intense, which can have negative impact on the whole South Caucasus.

Notwithstanding, Manasyan noted that peace in Artsakh is more expedient than war for a number of influential powers. Manasyan underscored: "For the superpowers the fragile peace is much better than any war, as the war will have negative influence on the economy of a lot of countries."
