No shooting and explosions in the Armenian districts of Aleppo

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. The situation in the Armenian and Christian districts of Aleppo is calm, no shooting and explosions can be heard. The Press Secretary of the Armenian National Prelacy in Aleppo Jirayr Reisian informed "Armenpress" about this. He stated: "Alongside with the peaceful situation the people also are in a good mood."

Speaking about the Church of Holy Martyrs in Der-Zor Reisian said that the explosions did not ruin neither the memorial nor the church. The military activity caused the collapse of the building at the back of the church, the nearby construction was burnt, although "the church has never been the target of the military actions." The glasses of the church have been broken due to the strong explosion. Reisian also stated that under the leadership of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Holy See of Cilicia all necessary measures will be taken for the restoration of the damaged parts of the church, as soon as the situation is stabilized.

As to the Armenians kidnapped in the road from Beirut to Aleppo on October 29, Reisian stated that in spite of all their efforts they do not possess any information about them.

Clashes in Syria lasting more than 19 months caused the death of more than 30 thousand people, including four dozens Armenians.
