Stepanakert Airport must be exploited despite the threats of Baku: Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Stepanakert Airport must be exploited in spite of the threats of Baku. This was announced by the political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan during the press conference held on November 3. Melik-Shahnazaryan said that Baku must realize that Armenia can counterattack and undertake decisive steps in case of necessity.

As reports "Armenpress" among other things Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan stated: "Artsakh must become one of the negotiating sides, otherwise all negotiations are meaningless. The course of the negotiations gives more time to Armenia to fortify the liberated territories." In Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan’s opinion it’s impossible to prevent the war entirely and we must make optimal usage of the time we have.

Talking about Safarov’s case the political scientist mentioned that this must be among the most important issues of the negotiations.

Melik-Shahnazaryan emphasized that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs prepare new suggestions for both sides, but it’s difficult to say what exact suggestions can be made, as no political solution have been found during the course of the negotiations.
