Karashamb excavations give a picture of the society activity living in the middle Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS: The excavations carried out in the Middle Bronze Age dated monument Karashamb discovered a huge tomb, part of which has already been opened. As Varduhi Melikyan, the head of the excavations stated in the briefing with Armenpress, the works targeted to the disclosure of the materials are underway.

''We have been launching works aimed at the opening of the tomb for already two months. We have come across cattle skeletons. Reportedly we''ll have materials in photos and formatted way after the excavations are fully completed'' . In the words of the specials opening of soil layers have also been implemented this year in Karashamb aimed at excavating of new tombs.

''Karashamb tomb is unique due to its concentration nature. There the tombs are built on each other, or are continuation of each other '' the interlocutor came up with. According to Varduhi Melikyan Karashamb excavations give an interesting picture about the activities of the society living in the middle Bronze Age up to the Early Iron Age. ''The excavations commissioned there enable a chance not only to make a picture of burial rituals but cover the lifestyle of this particular civilization’’ Melikyan underscored.

Karashamb excavations were launched in July, 2012 and will continue until November.
