Austrian ambassador handed his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan

YEREVAN, AUGUST 28, ARMENPRESS: Newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Austria to Armenia Alois Kraut (residency Vienna) handed his credentials to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan today.

Armenpress was informed from Press office of Armenian President that Serzh Sargsyan congratulated ambassador Kraut on occasion of beginning the diplomatic mission in our country, wished successes and expressed hope that those successes already at the finish of the mission of the ambassador would be visible in context of Austrian-Armenian relations by recording notable progress.

At the meeting the interlocutors stressed the importance of the official visit if Austrian President Heinz Fischer to Armenia and the high level arrangements made in framework of it directed to the development of Austrian-Armenian political, economic and cultural relations which have great potential. It was mutually highlighted that during 20 year history of inter-state relations it was the first official visit of Austrian President to Armenia which gave new quality to the agenda of bilateral cooperation. The President mentioned that Armenia stresses the importance of development of relations with Austria also in multilateral format including active cooperation in framework of EU.
