YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan visited Syrian Armenian children studying eastern Armenian in Stepan Shahumyan School. The Minister talked to the children, got acquainted with the teaching process. In the briefing with the journalists Hakobyan noted over 150 children are set to frequent Armenian schools, the number may increase as well.

''We have started registration jointly with Yerevan Municipality and Ministry of Education and Science. MES does not object opening of new school where Syrian Armenian school curriculum will be taught, if surely needed number of children would gather there, as many of the children are set to return Syria'' Hakobyan told.

Susan Abazyan, Armenian language and literature teacher in Stepan Shahumyan school told Armenpress, ''55 children are learning eastern Armenian in the school. We are accepting all the wishers without age limit. Children mostly learn language very easily. The difficulties are mainly connected to correct speaking, which will be easily corrected later on ''.

Victorya Bozanyan arrived from Aleppo stated during the initial period she had some difficulties with distinguishing the words.’’ Currently we mainly lack speaking skills and reportedly we are working on it''she told. Armenian Ministry of Diaspora in collaboration with Yerevan Municipality Education department organized Armenian language (eastern) courses for young Syrian Armenian school children. The classes of the first group started on July 30 hosted in Stepan Shahumyan School.
