Turkey realized that it can not have success in Syrian issue: Safrastyan

YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: They begin to analyze their own policy on Syrian events more seriously in Turkey. Director of the Institute of Oriental Sciences Ruben Safrastyan mentioned during the press conference on August 13 that Turkey was seeking to reach dominative positions, gain advantages of new quality. “Its calculations turned to be wrong. They must try to re-estimate their policy in Syrian issue. I think it has two ways – weaken its activity and support to riots or implement steps close to military actions” highlighted Safrastyan as Armenpress reports. He though that Turkey would chose the second way.

“It is firs of all dangerous for Turkey as its relations with Iraqi authorities worsened and besides the thousands of refugees in its territory become problem. The weapons which are given to riots can appear in hands of Syrian Kurds” he mentioned.

Reverberating to the visit of Hillary Clinton to Turkey Safrastyan highlighted that there were sounded several important declarations, particularly that working groups are created which study Syrian events more detailed and must develop further program of activities. “The sides also discussed two important issues – how to resist the possible use of chemical weapons and the issue of air corridors. The most part of the population of the country is for Assad, the army is near the Government. Western world, leaders of riots, Turkey realize that they lose and make actual the issue of air corridors” he mentioned.
