YEREVAN, JUNE 27, ARMENPRESS: Recently has been recorded increase in attempts by citizens of African countries’ citizens to use the territory of Armenia in order to leave for Europe. Armenpress reports that about this is mentioned in the statement of the project which is in the agenda of Government’s session on June 28. National Security Service presented to Executive body the issue of making addition in one of the decision of the Government, which relates to the abovementioned fact. The project has the aim to make manageable and controllable the entrance of African countries’ citizens into the Republic of Armenia.
People of such contingent arrive in Armenia and are here illegally or try to receive temporary residency status on the basis of mediation of the formal firms, in result of which the flow can become unmanageable and create many social, demographic, health as well as criminal problems.
Forty countries of African continent are not included in the list formed by the decision of Armenian Government yet, which citizens can only apply to Armenian diplomatic and consulate bodies abroad in order to get visa and only in the basis of invitations the citizens of those countries have the opportunity to arrive in Armenia and get visa at crossing points of Armenian state border without any obstacle.
It is suggested in the project to include forty African states in above-mentioned list.
