Armenian expert is sure that any attempt to violate cease-fire regime is illegal

YEREVAN, JUNE 14, ARMENPRSS: The response activities of Armenia to Azerbaijan are manifestations of self-defense. About this mentioned the Co-Founder of International and comparative law center Levon Gevorgyan. “If even in Azerbaijani opinion Armenia is an occupant, its activities are not legal. The use of force is prohibited in UN statute and it is one of the key principles of modern international law” said Gevorgyan as Armenpress reports. In his words the use of force although in this case is not aggression but allows implementing actions of self-defense. Republic of Armenia has never been a side of the conflict: the situation is not unique and such things have always existed. “The Security Council of UN that has reverberated for four times to Nagorno-Karabakh issue, did not touch anyhow the issue of Armenia and Armenia has never been mentioned as a side of the conflict which means that every attempt to violate cease-fire regime with Armenia is illegal” mentioned the expert. In opinion of Co-Founder of the Center Taron Simonyan the issue must be raised in Security Council of UN as Azerbaijan being the member of the Council periodically spreads anti-Armenian memorandums on the issue.
