Prime Minister of Armenia presents country’s economic policy

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, ARMENPRESS: Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan participated in the operative gathering of the leadership of the Armed Forces of the country held at the Defense Ministry. Governmental press office reported that the head of the government presented the economic policy of the country, answered the questions of the highest officer staff.

Noting that for the first time in the history of Armenia an industrial strategy has been worked out addressed to promotion of export, the Prime Minister said its goal will be to implement investment programs through the state-private sector cooperation. "The new branch policy will target creation of jobs," Tigran Sargsyan said.

The head of the government said the second priority of the program is the sphere of agriculture. The government will continue subsidizing programs of provision of seeds, fuel, fertilizers to help the farmers reduce the cost price of agricultural products and get incomes. The farms will get an opportunity to acquire agricultural engineering through loans with low percent rate or through leasing. It will promote the development of the sphere as well. Tigran Sargsyan said hence the state will provide financial means for creating jobs for insecure people and ensure availability of education for them.

A program has been worked out with the defense ministry with which the state will help a serviceman to orient in his further activity. "Registration papers have been worked out to reveal the skills, abilities, wishes of servicemen on the basis of which the rest works will be carried out to help them enter universities and get state-funded education. The state will assume financing of education of the demobilized young man," the PM said.

Referring to the equal territorial development Tigran Sargsyan said hence, capital investments will be directed to provinces, for development of infrastructures, provision of high-quality services, creation of jobs.
