GYUMRI, JANUARY 31, ARMENPRESS: "It is the duty of soul for me and my family to help the Union of Writers of Armenia to acquire the Tbilisi house of the All Armenian poet," mayor of Armenian city of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan said speaking to Armenpress.
"When the chairman of the Union of Writers Levon Ananyan was in Gyumri we were informed that the issue of acquiring the Tbilisi house of Armenia's poet Hovhannes Tumanyan was not solved, and I expressed wish to give the necessary sum on behalf of me and my brother. I consider it my duty to acquire the apartment. We have an arrangement that the Union will deal with the purchasing process. It will be a donation," the mayor said.
He will be informed about the demanded sum. "Our leadership, people will decide the future fate of the house. The fact is that we will acquire the apartment of the great poet of Armenia. It is our sacred duty," Vardan Ghukasyan said.
