Everyone is waiting for the New Year irrespective of age, sex, post. People tie their wishes and dreams with that day. Armenpress tried to find out what expectations representatives of the executive power of Armenia have from this holiday. Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan presents his expectations from the New Year.
- Mr Karapetyan, New Year has a special sacrament. On this day people make wishes, believe in miracles. Do you believe in New Year miracle?
- For each person New Year has a special sacrament and first of all this sacrament is based on optimism, on the desire of wishing each other all the kind and the best. Dreams are peculiar to the childhood age when we were dreaming of gifts and latter of profession. Today, though, we may speak of wishes the implementation of which is in our hands with the everyday work and persistence. As to miracles, everyone must believe in them. This belief inspires each to create and strive for new achievements.
- Is there a dream, a wish you make each New Year so that it comes true?
- One of the New Year wishes is to see peaceful and powerful Armenia, see all our compatriots gathered in the homeland. I am convinced that we will have the country we are dreaming of. Of course, difficulties still exist but they may be overcome with united efforts and devotion.
- Everyone loves getting presents. There are also presents which are being remembered throughout the life. Which one will you remember?
- Frankly speaking, I do not love getting presents, instead I love giving presents very much and congratulate at any occasion. My friends and relatives will confirm it. By the way, I love choosing presents myself, with my taste. I want it to be desirable and pleasant. From my childhood presents I remember the Santa Clause’s package full of candies and fruits taken out from Santa’s bag.
- Though celebrations bring happiness and joy, very often they are accompanied with pleasant “worries” among them is New Year shopping. Is it a worry or pleasure for you?
- I have always made the New Year shopping myself. This year is not exclusion. I want to choose the best be it gifts or be it for hospitality. It is necessary to have festive mood for the holiday as the first day of the holiday will stand for the whole year.
- What will you wish the people in New Year?
- I wish Armenian people welfare and peace. Let peace dominate in each family and on the border. I wish time will come when all borders will be eliminated and people will live in peace. I wish our country to strengthen, and I want to see our second state – the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh – recognized by the international community and states.
