Armenia quite active in CSTO: Hrayr Karapetyan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS:

The sittings of CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly and CSTO Parliamentary Assembly have been held lately in Saint Petersburg. Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Defence Hrayr Karapetyan presented their details today at the National Assembly. Highlighting the works of CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Mr. Karapetyan noted that Armenia is perhaps the most active member country in this format. Our country participates in joining to the agreements signed in CSTO format with great success. A number of issues have been referred in the sitting, including the CSTO action plan for the upcoming 1 year.

"The structure tries to reach NATO in any respect," stated Mr. Karapetyan. And November 9-10 in Saint Petersburg, CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was held. The main issue discussed here was the president's election. According to Mr. Karapetyan, it was unanimously adopted that Mrs. Valentina Matviyenko will hereafter chair the structure.
