Armen Rustamyan: CSTO should give adequate response to existing threats

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS:CSTO must give an adequate response to the existing threats, Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Armen Rustamyan stated today at the National Assembly during discussions over the protocol "on making changes in the Collective Security Treaty".

"It is natural, that our main concern is the Nagorno Karabakh issue, and even if the CSTO does not add the security guarantees in this issue, it will not reduce either," Armen Rustamyan stressed.

According to him, now it is under specification in which cases the CSTO can use its rapid response forces outside its borders. "Those actions will be taken when international security is threatened, and if Azerbaijan uses aggression against Nagorno Karabakh, then obviously suchlike threats will originate," Mr. Rustamyan stressed.
